Considering the speculation about the "initial" model being misinterpreted (the interviewers didn't phrase the question clearly enough to narrow down Fils-Aime's comments, so it actually sounded not unlike PS Plus meaning of "monthly access" even back then), it would take more official statements to clarify if Nintendo really made a drastic change based on complaints. Of course, there are other differences like the number of games accessed AND the continuous availability to new users instead of offer rotation. The talk gives me mixed feelings since I'm NOT comfortable with the possibility of such big policies hastily heeding shotgun feedback from more parasitically-minded consumers (despite me personally preferring the sound of the current model MUCH more - but of course, who am I but a fan myself?); on the other hand, CGC feels like what I wanted PS Now to be - or like Game Pass indeed. The games' age can help tone down the issue of royalties as well, and they retain their value through the decades. And there won't be buying many NES VC titles "all over again" for subscribers since they'll be getting them as part of a pretty cheap online multiplayer package anyway. XD
I just hope we aren't really talking a case where preliminary customer complaints "won", especially to the point of shooting ourselves in the foot with the future prospects of VC's separate offerings and the previously discussed possibility of online multiplayer in NES/SNES titles.

I'd be willing to pay more for their subscription if they expanded beyond NES, although I guess they want to keep it affordable for people that just want modern online, but it would be cool if you could pay separately for subscriptions to catalogs for each of their systems.
However Nintendo proceeds, I want to see more systems covered. Gamecube, for example. Ideally, a rotation of classic games through the online service with the option to keep any of them forever with a separate fee.
Nintendo at no point has mentioned Virtual Console and deliberately so. I'd say that it will be separate from this and you'll still be able to buy them in the traditional way. What previous consoles we'll have access to I don't know but I'd imagine up to and including Gamecube. If HAMSTER can fart out SNES games every other week no problem then surely Nintendo an billion dollar organisation and who made these platforms should have no problem. 2ff7e9595c
